How Our Logs Are Processed · First we saw the logs to a uniform stack height and then the inside cut is made leaving one natural side. · Then the logs are peeled the old fashion way using drawknives and muscle. · They are then stacked to air-dry for about 8 weeks. This dries the outer surface (sap wood) which is where the majority of the moisture is. · Just prior to shipment, we will peel the logs again to give them a very fresh, clean, peeled surface. We call this our double-peeled method.
Other Options 1. If you would like to save an additional amount of 8%, you can take shipment of the logs just after they are peeled the first time. The bundles would be spaced for drying and shipped to your building site. 2. You could also have your logs kiln dried by adding 25% to either the double peeled logs or single peeled price. Kiln drying takes an additional 4 weeks after the logs are processed. |

What is included in the basic log package price? · Our logs are made from Northern White Pine which come from northern and central Wisconsin. · The outer surface of the logs are 100% natural; containing knots, bumps and character. · These package prices are for full 8-inch stack height. · The average thickness of these logs are 9-10 inches. · The wall log lengths would be 70% 8 and 30% 10,12, and some 16. · The siding would be 70% 8 and 30% 10and 12.
Optional add-ons: · Log beams, joists, rafters, posts, railings, pre-notching corners, natural corners, and 2x6 T&G for lofts and porches. · We can add to your package log screws, foam sealer for in between the logs, stain, and caulk.
What is not included in this price? · Shipping, construction labor, foundation, sub-floor, roof, interior walls, windows, doors, etc. |
